Dr. Eric Storey

DVM-MS, DACVO

Dr Storey is a board certified veterinary ophthalmologist with specialized training in diseases and surgery of the retina.

Dr Storey was raised and educated here in Pensacola Florida . He is so excited about having the opportunity to come back home and is looking forward to working with and supporting the local veterinarians with ophthalmic cases. He received his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) from Auburn University in 1999 and then completed a small animal rotating internship at the University of Illinois. He then attended graduate school and completed a three-year veterinary ophthalmology residency at the Western College of Veterinary Medicine in Saskatchewan in 2003. During this residency program, he obtained specialized training in diseases and surgery of retina. For the past 12 years he served as an associate professor in the Department of Clinical Sciences and Chief of Ophthalmology at LSU College of Veterinary Medicine, in Baton Rouge, La with responsibilities in teaching, research and clinical service. He served as an ophthalmology clinician and surgeon to include vitreoretinal surgeries, teaching and training veterinary students and residents, and performing basic and clinical research in ophthalmology.

Dr. Staci Spears

DVM, DACVO

Dr. Spears, a native Michigander, graduated from Hillsdale College in 2013 with a B.S. in biology. Originally planning to pursue a career in aquatic animal medicine, she traveled to Gainesville, Florida for veterinary school at the University of Florida, College of Veterinary Medicine. During her junior year she developed a passion for ophthalmology after working on a project involving ocular disease in a group of production fish. After graduating with her DVM and a certificate in aquatic animal health in 2017, Dr. Spears traveled back to Southfield, Michigan to complete a small animal rotating internship with BluePearl Veterinary Specialists. In 2018 she completed an ophthalmology internship at South Atlanta Veterinary Emergency and Specialty where she met Dr. Storey, which led to her completing a residency in veterinary ophthalmology at Animal Eye Clinic of Pensacola. Dr. Spears enjoys all aspects of veterinary ophthalmology, but has special interests in ophthalmic surgery. Outside of work, Dr. Spears enjoys sheep herding with her border collie, playing and writing music, and tabletop gaming.
